EVIDENCE

U ovom slučaju, on koristi zamrznute snimke iz političkih filmova 70-ih godina.

Učestvovao na sedamdeset kolektivnih izložbi i dvanaest puta izlagao samostalno. Dobitnik nagrade Momčilo Moma Marković za najbolji crtež malog formata, treće nagrade Niš Art Fondacije i pohvale žirija na 14. Međunarodnom bijenalu umetnosti minijature u Gornjem Milanovcu.

EVIDENCE

In his exploration of the medium of painting, Veljko Vučković engages with pre-existing imagery as the basis for his work. In this case, he uses snapshots from 70s political films. Carefully choosing the subjects which serve him as models, he absorbs the visual information, digitally alters it and resurrects it through his artistic realization using traditional technique – oil on canvas. The depictions of individuals are characterized by a muted, monochromatic palette and a blurry pictorial language. As a result, the transposition of portraitures from screen to canvas through the act of painting leads to recontextualisation and ambiguity. These small format paintings begin to launch a number of different narratives, since they are in dialogue with each other as well as with the spectator himself. In other words, every single work is open to new interpretations, or, more precisely, to new aspects of affective reactions to its content.

Born in 1994 in Gornji Milanovac. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degree at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade in the class of professor Nikola Božović, painting department. At the moment, he is attending PhD studies at the same faculty. He has participated in seventy collective and twelve solo exhibitions. He has been awarded the Momčilo Moma Marković award for the best small format drawing, third Niš Art Foundation award and has received jury praise at the 14th International Biennial of Miniature Art in Gornji Milanovac.
